Properties | BOHLER M461 EXTRA is precipitation hardening steel grade for plastic moulds, featuring good machinability in the as supplied, precipitation hardened condition BOHLER M 461 EXTRA meets a great number of highly exacting requirements both in the process of mould production by featuring: best electric discharge machining properties, excellent polishability, excellent dimensional stability during heat treatment and machining, excellent nitriding properties, easy machinability with high hardness as well as the processing of plastics by offering high compressive strength with high toughness, high wear resistance. |
Application | ● High-precision plastic injection moulds e.g. for the production of camera parts and electronic parts. ● Compression moulds for all types, e.g. for plastic containers. ● Moulds for the processing of elastomers. ● Moulds for the production of packing rings (O-ring seals) ● Moulds for the productiong of tire segments (rubber materials) ● High-precision components for mechanical engineering. |
